Ten neighbourhoods, and we will tell you which are too far
Areas we serve
Woodside and Sunnyside are the core. Everywhere else depends on where exactly, and on some of them the honest answer is that you should collect.
A pizza has a shelf life measured in minutes, and a delivery area that ignores that is a marketing decision rather than a food one. Ours is drawn around how long a pizza can be in a bag and still be worth eating, which is why it is smaller than an app would give you and why the pizza is better when it arrives.
Woodside, NY
Home. Everything on the menu, every day, and the shortest ride in the city.
Sunnyside, NY
Ten minutes on a bike and one of our two core delivery neighbourhoods since the beginning.
Astoria, NY
The southern end, below Broadway. Further north we would rather you collected.
Jackson Heights, NY
West of 82nd Street on a normal evening. Ask on a Friday.
Elmhurst, NY
The northern half, up to Queens Boulevard. It is a long ride from here in traffic.
Maspeth, NY
The northern edge, near the LIE. Please telephone to check before you plan dinner around it.
Long Island City, NY
East of 36th Street. The far west is genuinely too far for a pizza to arrive well.
Rego Park, NY
Collection, catering and large orders. Regular delivery is beyond our range.
Corona, NY
Collection and catering. We are honest about the ride being too long for a good pizza.
Middle Village, NY
Collection and catering. Worth the drive for a tray; too far for one pie.
Why the area is drawn this way
Fifteen minutes is roughly how long a New York pie stays properly good in an insulated bag. After that the steam it gives off has nowhere to go, it condenses on the underside, and the base you paid for goes soft. Ordering well done buys you a few more minutes and no more than that.
So the delivery area is a fifteen-minute ride rather than a list of postcodes, and it moves with traffic and with how busy the kitchen is. If you are on the edge of it, telephone and ask — on a Tuesday afternoon the answer is usually yes and on a Friday at seven it is sometimes no.
An estimate is not a promise. Every delivery time we quote is an estimate, not a promise, and we will not offer you a guarantee we would have to break on a Friday at eight o'clock. If the kitchen is running long we would rather tell you thirty minutes late on the telephone than let you find out at the door.
For collection and catering the area is much wider, because a tray in a car for twenty minutes is a different proposition from a single pie on a bike. We have sent trays to Middle Village and Rego Park for years.
Twelve to fifteen minutes, and worth the wait
Order a pie
Telephone the shop and we will tell you honestly how long the kitchen is running before you commit to anything. Collection is always quicker than delivery and the pizza is always better for it. If you are ordering for a crowd, the catering page has the trays and the notice we need.
