An estimate is not a promise
Delivery
Our own riders, a fifteen-minute radius, and a time we actually believe rather than one that sounds good on the telephone.
What we will and will not promise
Every delivery time we quote is an estimate, not a promise, and we will not offer you a guarantee we would have to break on a Friday at eight o'clock. If the kitchen is running long we would rather tell you thirty minutes late on the telephone than let you find out at the door.
The reason is arithmetic rather than principle. A kitchen that is running twenty minutes behind on a Friday cannot make that time up, and a rider cannot ride faster without it becoming somebody's problem. So a shop that guarantees thirty minutes has three options when it is behind: break the promise, send out a pizza that is not ready, or push a rider. All three are worse than telling you the truth on the telephone.
What we will do is give you a number we believe, telephone you if it moves by more than about ten minutes, and tell you when collection would genuinely be quicker.

What travels, and what does not
Travels well
The square pies, and the upside-down Sicilian best of all. Rolls, stromboli, heroes, baked pasta and wings.
Travels acceptably
The New York rounds. Ask for well done — a drier base survives a bag considerably better.
Travels badly
The Neapolitan pies. Very good for ten minutes, ordinary after twenty. Also the caprese, and garlic knots, which we would rather toss in front of you.
Roughly a fifteen-minute ride
Where we deliver
Woodside and Sunnyside are the core and we will always come. The rest depends on where exactly you are and how busy the kitchen is, and the honest answer is that the further edges are sometimes a no on a Friday.

$20 minimum
Before the delivery fee. Below that a small shop loses money on the ride, and we would rather say so than bury it in a surcharge.
$3 or $5
$3 within Woodside and Sunnyside, $5 further out. It goes to the rider, in full.
We call if it slips
If the estimate moves by more than about ten minutes, you get a telephone call rather than a longer wait and no explanation.

Delivery questions
Do you guarantee a delivery time?
No, and we will not start. Every time we quote is an estimate. A guarantee only means something if you are willing to break it, and the shops that offer one break it constantly.
What is the minimum order?
$20 before any delivery fee. Below that the economics do not work for a small shop and we would rather say so than add a surcharge that hides it.
Is there a delivery fee?
$3 within Woodside and Sunnyside, $5 to the further neighbourhoods. It goes to the rider.
Why will you not deliver a Neapolitan pizza happily?
Because it is genuinely much worse after twenty minutes in a bag. We will send one if you insist and we will tell you first. The New York and square pies travel far better and we would rather you enjoyed your dinner.
How far do you deliver?
Roughly a fifteen-minute ride. Woodside and Sunnyside are the core; Astoria, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Maspeth and Long Island City depend on where exactly and how busy we are. Ask and we will tell you honestly.
Do you use a delivery app?
No. Our riders are our own staff and they know the neighbourhood. It means a smaller area than an app would cover and a considerably better pizza at the door.
Collection is quicker and the pizza is better
